Updated 10/14/16: Joe is down 32 pounds, 8 inches and continuing to lose weight. He has made sure to follow up with his Endocrinologist who has drastically reduced his Insulin levels and has taken him off one full medication. He is now beginning to walk for exercise without his cane and his hip pain has been reduced from 7/10 to 1/10.  Joe would like for everyone to know if he can do it, so can you. “I thought I was going to have to starve in order to lose weight, but I was wrong. I am hardly ever hungry and the food is really tasty.” Way to go, Joe. I am proud of you!

Joe’s Remedy Story speaks so profoundly about the human resolve. He had so many obstacles stacked against him, but he had a catalyst. He has struggled with his weight and health for years and his doctor told him he needed to lose weight before he was allowed to have a hip replacement.  He did not let fear or shame keep him stuck. Not once did I hear him complain or ask for a cheat day. His why was the desire to improve his health and I was honored enough to tell him how to complete his goal.  Joe has inspired me to continue to inspire, educate, and empower the chronically inflamed. Excited for what he will accomplish next.



Joe’s Remedy Story: (8/30/16)

“I have been attending In Motion OC Aquatic Physical Therapy for my back and hip problems. At 300 pounds with Type II Diabetes, hip pain, and several other health issues I finally realized I needed to lose weight. I was at a point in my life where I had to do something or I would be wheelchair bound. I signed up for nutritional health coaching with Melanie and she has saved my life.  She has given me at least 10 more years of my health back.  I have now lost 20 pounds and 6 inches in one and a half months.  My hip pain and inflammation are much better and I am able to walk farther.  I will continue to follow the healthy eating program designed by Melanie so I can reach my goal of 60 pounds.   It is a lifestyle change that I want to continue.  I realized it’s not that I was eating too much food before, but that I was eating the wrong food.   I am very thankful to Melanie for educating me on healthy eating.”
